From 2008-2011 I was a Visiting Assistant Professor at Grand Valley State University. I have sinced moved to the San Francisco Bay area and am owner of Hanson Global Advisors, and am also a minority owner of Blue Hawaii Lifestyle.

Grand Valley State University (GVSU) is a big-bang-for-your-buck school of higher education located in West Michigan. GVSU is a pretty remarkable place and is a career launching pad for thousands of young people each year. GVSU currently has about 25,000 students and is continuing to grow, even in our dismal economy. The new 50 million dollar business school dedicated to the late L. William Seidman is a testament to the direction the university is moving. My association with GVSU has spanned many years, and teaching there was a very rewarding experience.

Hanson Global Advisors is the entity from which I offer my consulting services. When I am not teaching I am often working on consulting projects, mostly in organizational development and strategy. I also have done good work in educational consulting. My interest in organizational management is surrounded by the work I have done in ethics, leadership development, generational theory, culture and diversity studies, and technology consulting (mostly social media technology).

I am also a trained China expert and have lived and worked in China. I speak conversational Mandarin and I work to help entrepreneurs and businesses better understand China. Blue Hawaii Lifestyle is a health and lifestyle company I helped conceive and develop in Honolulu, HI. It is currently growing and due to expand to China in the next year.

Recently I have worked at the East-West Center in Honolulu, HI and sit on the executive board of the East-West Center Association. I am an avid surfer, golfer, and triathlete.
